Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I would like to book a trip but I have no experience and I am not a strong swimmer. Will this be a problem?
A. Not at all. Anyone with moderate fitness can participate if they are able to swim two lengths of a standard 50 metre swimming pool. You will be wearing a buoyancy aid at all times and you will be trained under the guidelines of the British Canoe Level One beginner's course.
Q. I am an experienced paddler, will your trips be challenging enough?
A. Yes you are very welcome, especially, if there's a few of you, We can tailor a new trip to suit your level (or that of the person in the group with the least experience.) Winds can create high seas at times and experienced paddles will enjoy breaking through and surfing the waves.
Q. What if I am not sure how many days I want to go paddling?
A. You are very welcome to paddle for as many days as you like, depending on how many we are running, weather conditions and group numbers.
Q. Are non paddling partners and friends able to do other things in the area?
A. There are plenty of things for partners or family to do; the beautiful local scenery is ideal for relaxed exploration on foot, by bicycle or on the local buses.
Q. If I am staying in a bed and breakfast or hotel and book one of your trips, will you pick us up at our accommodation?
A. Yes, we can pick you up from your accommodation and take you back, or we can meet you somewhere convenient. (This will incur a small charge towards the cost of the fuel.)
