Pool Session - Rescue Practice
This is where we can practice our assisted deep water rescues (called T Rescues), as you capsize in a warm and controlled environment. We get you back in your kayak in seconds and this enables you to know what to expect in the rare case that someone capsizes on one of our trips. We can also practise some of our newly learned paddle skills from the beginners courses - homing in on our support strokes and edge turns with our kayaks.
For the more experienced paddlers, we can arrange self-rescue practice with your own kayaks,
Small groups of 4 people work well with a shared cost for an hour's pool session.
The warm, calm and clearly protected water of a pool enables a paddler to concentrate on learning new techniques without having to be cold or facing threatening situations. Pool sessions are a classroom platform for learning in very controlled conditions.
